JPS Parking Garage

Fort Worth, TX

Beck Group

This current project, located on the John Peter Smith Hospital campus, required demolition of approximately 20,000sf of existing pavement followed by excavation for a new parking garage. The new structure received varying depths of moisture conditioned soil totalling in around 25,000cy capped with over 20,000 tons of recycled flex base. An added challenge to this project, it was determined by the Environmental Testing Lab that the existing soils had to be classified as Class II Contaminated. Working with Republic Services, we got approval to remediate the contaminated soils at an approved landfill. Our experience with soil remediation contributed to avoiding costly delays to the project and the environmentally safe disposal of over 30,000cy of material to date.
